Water Sharpening
Of all the shear sharpeners in the country, only a handful are actually trained and authorized by manufacturers. TJ Porte is one of the few.
As one of the founders of Sensei Shear Systems, TJ has received instruction from a number of manufacturers including the manufacturers of Sensei and Fuji shears. TJ does factory authorized sharpening for: Sensei, Sam Villa, Karg, Centrix, Rusk, Toni & Guy and Paul Mitchell.
We use the same professional, factory equipment the manufacturers use. The difference in quality you experience from Precision Edge is the difference that comes with factory training, factory equipment and over 35 years of experience.
We offer exceptional sharpening on all shears.
Hamaguri Water Sharpening - Over 90% of haircutting shears today are manufactured with a Hamaguri (clamshell or convex) edge yet this edge design is the most difficult to replicate and replicate correctly. We specialize in Hamaguri edge work. Using flowing water we keep the shear cool throughout the sharpening process ensuring that the the shear’s tempering remains unchanged.
Mobile Sharpening - Due to our large Colorado customer base, we offer the same sharpening using the same professional factory equipment in a mobile van at your salon along the Colorado front range. Please contact us for an appointment.
Shear sharpening is $40 per shear and includes return shipping in the continental U.S. Charges for expedited shipping and foreign delivery are shown on the service form.
